The review

I am not sure how to address this but getting reviews is like pulling teeth.  You can do the best job in the world and still not get a good review or any review at all.  A customer will tell you so many wonderful things.  The work looks amazing.  The guys were amazing.  I will recommend your company to all of my friends.  They will give your guys cash tips.  They will give you food and make cookies for you.  However, when you ask for that review, you get nothing.  Absolutely unbelievable.  Hell, you can offer visa gift cards and still nothing.  Don’t get me wrong, you will get reviews but don't count on getting the ones you want.

You will get shitty reviews too.  You will even get negative reviews from competitors, ex-girlfriends, anyone you piss off whether or not you worked on their house or not.  There’s not one damn thing you can do about it.  Google will not remove a negative comment under no circumstances.  They have a review process but it’s a black hole that ends in a void.  All I can say is that you just need to be a diligent as you can be and keep your fingers crossed and don't piss anyone off. The system is so broken that you could look at someone the wrong way and they can jump on google and trash your business.

I fired a sub-contractor because he didn’t show up for work and he left me a negative review.  He is the one who didn’t show up for work yet I got stuck with a bad review from him.  He was barely a high school graduate. Since I fired him I ignored his calls and he said I didn't know how to run a business rather than take accountability for his actions. I even had an ex-girlfriend leave me a bad review.  It’s unbelievable.  At first she left me a glowing review as we transformed her house so she could sell it after her divorce. After I broke up with her and moved on, she changed her review to a one star review. Women!
